Lisbon, Portugal: Landeau Café

On my recent trip to Portugal, we spent a couple of days in the capital Lisbon. The city is extremely beautiful, like a less fancy and smaller Paris. There are cute small shops for antique books and maps in every corner of the streets, cosy cafés, great rooftop bars and amazing fish restaurants. The city is really worth a visit!
Apart from visiting many of the 'typical' tourist attractions, we also spent one afternoon in a creative area known as the 'LX Factory.' Situated in the quirky Alcantara between the centre and Belém, it is more of an insider tip for the locals. Although it does take around 20 minutes to reach, it is definitely worth squeezing onto the agenda. Aside from being packed with creative stores, funky bars and art galleries, this place also has great cafés, one of which is the Landeau Café.
This small place is painted in a light, welcoming blue and packed with unique old furniture. It was pretty empty as we visited the place during the week, but I'm pretty sure this place is packed with chocolate-lovers on the weekend!
We tried the famous chocolate cake, the hot chocolate and a 'café con leite', which is basically a portugeses latte machiatto or café au lait. The chocolate cake was amazing, one of the best I've ever eaten. It was a mix of a chocolate mousse and a soft brownie, slightly bitter in it's taste, so just right for me! The hot chocolate was like a whole dark chocolate bar melted in a cup and mixed with milk. It was super filling in combination with the cake, but a perfect treat on a sightseeing day!
The prices of this café were slightly high for Portugal standards, but absolutely acceptable. We payed around 7 euros for two drinks and a piece of cake.
